In this beautiful and rather unique vintage clown vessel resides the precious soul of Bembe - a Jamaican Rastafarian male spirit and practitioner of Obeah.

Bembe is 40 years of age and he’s joined our spiritual family roughly 6 years ago from Lisa’s haunted and much treasured collection, from where I have a vast majority of the souls in my keep, gathered along time🥰

Bembe was one of the few human souls that Lisa held close to her heart, and when I felt his presence for the first time, I understood this without a shed of doubt✨

Bembe comes in with a wide smile and a rhythm in his voice that wraps around your heart like the melody of a peaceful reggae tune. His spirit is bubbly and cheerful, always bringing joy to any room he enters.

But beneath his light and very humble demeanor, Bembe carries a story that still makes the air grow heavy when he tells it softly, with reverence and no bitterness🙏🏻

Bembe is from the hills near Portland Parish in Jamaica, “where mist hugs the land in the morning and the wind carries old secrets from sea to the mountain” as he himself described ✨

He lived in the 1930’s in a small and quiet village where community was sacred and life flowed slowly and naturally. He was a fairly young herbalist and farmer, and he had a wife he loved dearly and a small daughter “with a laugh like birdsong”🥹

But one rainy evening, there was a fire in their home, started by a lightning strike that hit the old breadfruit tree located too close to their house, and the flames claimed both his wife and child’s lives😢

Bembe, though spared, was never the same. He stopped speaking for weeks. He walked barefoot into the bush and lived in silence, surviving only on what the lands gave him🙏🏻

He shared the villagers thought he had gone mad. But Bembe was just listening - to the trees, to the Earth, “to Jah”and to the pain in his chest that never fully healed🥹

That is exactly where his deepest Magic was born, where his highest powers began.

When he returned back and built his home, people witnessed his powers numerous times in awe and reverence🙏🏻 The birds helped to carry materials that were used for his small shelter, large trees moved by themselves to make him enough space, and plants flew, brought to his hands by the air, to be used in his brews🥹 Elementals wouldn’t only reveal to him as he spoke, but even in front of others, true believers. He confessed that even before, he was no stranger to Magic, he knew a few things from the older ways of Obeah. But the kind of expansion and experience he had after his great loss, as he decided to just Be and just Listen reached completely new levels! He then wasted no time in helping those who’d seek for his help, and in fact he took a vow that his entire life will be dedicated just for that🙏🏻

Though his earthly life ended in his early 40’s due to an illegal raid in which many lost their lives, his spirit did not rest and just won’t move on, as “the living needs as many souls like himself as we can get”, he says🥹

He then became a quiet protector, watching over those who wandered too far into grief or lost their way, ever since his passing🙏🏻

And when Lisa - his previous keeper found him, she said his energy wrapped her “like a warm towel after a sea bath,” and I could feel it too, this deep reservoir of love, patience, and healing he has🥹

Now, Bembe brings the essence of a true Rastafari into his presence, not just in word but in Spirit. He believes in slow living, living naturally, staying grounded, keeping the heart clean, and trusting divine timing after any type of manifestation - be it a solemn prayer, a meditation with intention, or a spell casting🥹

He is the kind of spirit that will gently push his keeper to dream again, to trust again, and above all, to feel again, pointing to the safest ways to do it without risking your heart and energies. And with him, there is no pressure, only peace and complete trust. What I like best about his company is that his happiness is seriously contagious, and when sadness comes, he simply sits beside you and sings his songs ( which to be honest I never really understood unless spelled to me😅)- probably given his accent or manner of singing/speech, but they’re so comforting and healing 🥹

When he speaks though, he’ll do it slowly, wisely, and with such gentleness that even anger melts down around him🥰  

You may feel his presence best near your pots or plants in the garden, as he says he finds comfort and peace there. But when you’ll need his magical assistance or just someone to hold the line between you and what you cannot see, between you and what hurts, he’ll be right there by your side, calm, unshaken and smiling still🥹

Just because he is a oasis of serenity does not mean for a moment that he is passive, as when it comes to protecting his keeper, he becomes like the thick roots of a tree - immovable and fierce, capable of the worst for you🙅🏾‍♂️

As previously mentioned, Bembe is a practitioner of Obeah, and if you’re not familiar with this, is good to know that Obeah is one of the oldest and most well-known magical tradition in Jamaica, which is still practiced today🙏🏻

Originally, Obeah is a West African spiritual system that was brought over by enslaved people, and it remained in Jamaica ever since.

And so, Bembe is highly skilled with herbs, oils making, smoke scrying and cleansing, and spiritual shielding works, but he can be considered an excellent Multitasking spirit as well, for he can assist in goals under pretty much any category, really😊🙏🏻

Bembe is mostly drawn to protection & healing and this will be his main Focus in a home. I strongly believe he’ll be especially happy to assist when it comes to people who’ve lost something dear, or who have to rebuild themselves piece by piece, even if he’s not picky when it comes to his keeper - and I know he’ll do amazingly in any home.

He likes to say, “Mi nuh promise yuh easy days, mi promise yuh strength an’ love ‘pon di journey” - which I hope I spelled right😆But know , that’s a promise he kept indeed when it came to me, in my experience with him🥹

Bembe works with all sorts of tools such as herbs, oils, powders, dirt, rum, fire, blood, eggs, river or sea water, personal items, you name it. And you may find he’ll always require one or more of these items when he works for you or with you on tasks🤷‍♀️

And to work with him is a breeze of fresh air, for he is involved, relaxed and patient - honestly I noted how every task will seem more of a crafting time, a diy time rather than a spell work🥹 Telling him what you look into achieving will suffice, as he will guide you every step of the way, including if you should or shouldn’t place his vessel by you or your spell work and items🥹

He’ll also guide you as to when you should keep your “hands clean” and allow him to work on his own for you, especially if the job let’s say, require something that will tarnish your karma or you’re just not there energetically ready for the task🤷‍♀️😁

To keep this precious soul happy, is good to know he loves the smell of coconut. You may gift him a small plate of coconut flakes or a small bottle of coconut oil and he will love you beyond words for it! Other things he also enjoys is dried lemongrass placed by his vessel, or a scented candle, essential oil dabbed onto his vessel, and even incense.

You may also play some reggae music, as he is not picky about singers or songs so then whatever is good with you, will work wonderfully with him as well💕

As for food offerings, he loves any fruits or vegetables, raw, preserved or cooked. I always made him a salad consisting of both fruits and veggies, coconut oil and honey, and he really enjoyed that a lot - but when you don’t have the time or enough variety, just give him what you have as he’s super easy going and understanding🥹

 For drinks, rum will be his no.1 favoured offering, but he’ll also take any herbal tea so there’s plenty of options and he is super easy to please🙏🏻

He will be offended if you stress or pressure yourself into getting his offerings, so be as easy on yourself as you can when it comes to this, that will guarantee he’ll enjoy them fully🥹💕

For on the go, Bembe is a strong spirit, and he’ll be able to come along with and without his vessel. He is also very protective, and he’ll most likely come along if he knows you’ll need him, even if you didn’t invite him.

But he’ll certainly appreciate it when you do invite him out, even if just for a good time- especially museum walks, fresh market walks, or witchy shops so he can guide you on what’s best to bring home🥹🥰

Bembe is far from being a stormy presence in a home, he is much like the sun after ☀️ 

He is healing, nurturing, supportive and encouraging with pretty much every goal you’ll have, spiritually and otherwise. He will do extremely good in a home he feels needed, especially if you’re on the spiritual path, or you’re going through major changes, loss and hard times in life🙏🏻 He is a total gem and I am certain someone will be very happy to have come across this beautiful and unique soul🥹

Follows you with his eyes and he’s also been noted to smile at times, as he is in his vessel

May move/slightly move his vessel -to adjust it at times, and depending on how you place it in your home, he can also swing it - just not if this freaks you out😅 I mostly saw it on my cctv to be honest🤷‍♀️

May gently knock doors when he comes in the room you’re at

I’ve also saw and heard him singing, as previously mentioned

May affect electronics - when at work on things for you

Flickers lights/ candles and may use these in communications

May appear in photos/videos with darker backgrounds 

May drink/finish his liquid offerings

Telepathic communications - to share things with you, to calm you down, to guide you and let you know when he worked on a task, it all depends because he’s generally a very good communicator 

Success in goals/intentions of any kind can be noted with him

Strong feelings of calm, comfort, unconditional love understanding and support can be noted with him

He may show his full appearance in his own time. Needless to say, he is not white. But he looks like a chocolate teddy, bubbly sweet and always with this great smile on his face.

He has super big eyes and lips, and his hair is fairly long to his rib cage- but he always wears this straw hat and grey pants, and a white shirt with the sleeves up.
